It's also a breeze to push and feels sturdy when you're navigating kerbs and woodland paths. Additionally, it's easy to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned its reputation as the ultimate stroller that is light, ideal for city dwellers as as jet-setters. This is thanks to its extremely nimble handling and fold-down design that can be incorporated into an aeroplane's overhead luggage. The latest version has independent suspension on all four wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer, allowing it to 'perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.
The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 frame and 6months of colour pack come together to create a sleek pushchair with a delicate, elegant aesthetic. The frame's weight alone is just over a kilogram and is so light that you can easily lift it out of the box (and do so one-handed).
It's also easy to add or remove attachments or adaptors like the hood for instance, snaps onto the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks and is machine washable to prevent staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram starting from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller after 6 months using the YOYO Connect additional chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a fantastic choice for parents looking for an adaptable stroller wagon. It can be converted from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle, which means parents can pick which mode they prefer on their journey. The wagon can fit two or more children between 6 months to five years old. It has a huge storage basket that can hold all your needs while on the go.
The Xplore also has two canopies that rotate from front to back, ensuring ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than other wagons. This might not be suitable for long journeys or napping.
The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy, but it does not flex as much as some other wagons we test. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and does not lock tightly once folded. It is easy to move however, and can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.
3. Delta Children LX Side by Side
This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents seeking an affordable, second-hand travel stroller. It was awarded an impressive score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and size folded, which means it's very lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to lift into a car trunk or closet. It also offers an adjustable reclining seat that can be positioned in several positions as well as a cup holder for the parent. Other important features include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels and two large hanging storage bags.
In our test of the push and turn, it did better than many of the other strollers that we tried, but it's not the most comfortable to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the smallest of all strollers we test. They only cover the top and don't have windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger sunshades.
It took us less than 3 minutes to assemble the Delta with a standard manual. None of the parts required tools. However, it is missing certain essential features that we think you should consider non-negotiable for a double stroller for example, a larger basket and reclining seats that have adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's latest pushchair, and is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It can be used from birth to around 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be converted easily with just a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes with the light Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible carriage.
The seat can be reclined using one hand, and the big shopping basket makes it easy for parents to help their child in and out. single seat buggy can handle everyday bumps and doorways with ease.
The front wheels can to be locked in a forward position or rotate. This is useful in rough terrain. When we walked along the stony path we let them swivel and it performed well, although it seemed a little bumpier than others on test.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,
Baby Jogger is known for their three-wheeled, all-terrain Jogging pushchairs, however they also make a good assortment of strollers with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most loved models. It is easy to use and folds down small enough to fit in a car boot even with the carrycot attached.
It is heavier than the other strollers we tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all kinds of terrain, and it's also a breeze to lift even with two children and a shopping bag.
The seat and carrycot both have hoods with pull-down UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are strong and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back onto toddlers' faces.
It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but it does have an ample basket that is deep enough to hold a change bag or a large amount of groceries. You can also connect it with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a travel system for babies up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters sold separately). If you require a stroller that can be used on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of a lot of parents when it first came out. It's a stroller made of aluminum which can be used from the infant's first days until. It's got a lot of standout features, like the capacity of the seat to be turned between the front facing parent and the outside, a large UPF50+ canopy with an eye shade that flips out, and an adjustable handlebar.
The wheels are durable and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension that eases the pain of bumpy terrain. It was simple to push and our test driver was able manoeuvre the vehicle through narrow streets.
It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also be folded and stood up for easier transportation down the stairs or in the boot of the car. It also comes equipped with the option to add a car seat or carrycot using the included adaptors. The brakes come with one action and are color coded. They also work with flip-flops.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget pushchair is easy to operate and features a great dual suspension. It can be folded using just one hand, and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also very light and sturdy. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress that is suitable for babies.
The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors that are either fixed or flipped out. Both are UPF50+. However, the toggle closure isn't perfect - it's not as silent as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.
The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It's compatible with two infant car seats and works with some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be facing each other or rotate around to face the parents, theoretically reducing sibling fights over who sits with mom and dad. It has a huge gear tray, bottle holder snack tray, and the ability to change mats. It also has a superior compact stand fold and automatic frame lock.
8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2
The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who like to stay active. It's one of the lightest strollers for running that you can purchase for your child. It also has great safety features, including the 5-point safety harness and wrist safety strap. It comes with a different kind of hand brake unlike other models that is an innovative twist.
The seat is very comfortable and provides a wide area to sit. However the seat's depth is less than that of other runners (it's only about 10") The storage bin is encased with a zipper to keep things safe. It can hold up to 10lbs that is enough for the majority of diaper bags.
The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with infant car seats or bassinets as it comes, but you can use it right from the start with the purchase of adapters to most seats from brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It is easy to fold and put together in 5-10 minutes without any tools. The manual is easy to comprehend and contains multiple languages.
